  • Countries of the World - Need information about a country?  This site offers plenty of information with quick facts, maps, and flags.  Search by keyword or alphabetical order by country.
  • Don’t Gross Out the World - Take the International Etiquette Quiz and test your knowledge of what is and isn’t appropriate behavior at the dinner table in 11 major countries.
  • Foreign Consular Offices in the United States - Names of chief foreign consular personnel and addresses of consulates and chanceries, compiled by the U.S. Department of State.  Also includes chronological list of dates of foreign national holidays.
  • Global Connections: The Middle East - From PBS come these resources that explore many facets of life in the Middle East.   • IPL: Culture Quest World Tour - The Internet Public Library introduces you to the cultures of several countries and regions in different parts of the world. View sampling of each countries folk tales, crafts and cuisine and learn about its holidays.
  • Kid Info Reference Resources: The World - This gateway offers an easy navigation through the countries. 
  • The Library of Congress: Country Studies - Use the Browse button and find in-depth reports on historical and current information about a country.  Not every country is represented on this site.
  • License Plates of the World - See how other countries identify their cars and check out the artwork on plates of various states.
  • Rulers - This site contains lists of heads of state and heads of government.
  • United States Embassies and Consulates Worldwide - Links to home pages of U.S. Embassies and Consulates throughout the world, maintained by the U.S. Department of State.
  • World Atlas - Currency, flags, population, religion are some of the many topics included.  Get an answer for those hard to find topics.
  • The World Factbook - Put out by the Central Intelligence Agency this site provides great details on different countries.  Recommended for older students.
