  • Apple Country - The New York State Apple Association provides apple fun facts, apple history, and apple classroom activities.

  • Biomes of the World - The Missouri Botanical Garden’s educational website for children explores the flora and fauna of each of the world’s different biomes.  Each biome features a description of the climate and plant life that it supports with color pictures, highlighted terms that will take the reader to a simple glossary.
  • Flying Turtle Science: Photosynthesis, Energy, and Life - Explore the process and components of photosynthesis, energy transfers and changes, energy pyramids, and food chains.
  • Fun Facts About Fungi - A fun and fact filled website on Mushrooms that explores the wonders of fungi and bacteria.  The information and pictures explain the importance of fungi and bacteria to the plant world and the scientific value that many of these bacteria have.

  • Just for Kids Plants and Trees - Interactive and audio enhanced, this web site provided by the University of Illinois Extension has two entertaining and descriptive links: “Secret life of Trees” and “The Great Plant Escape."

  • Plant Cell Anatomy - This is a simplified look at the cross section of a plant cell which is enhanced by a clearly defined color illustration of the cell. This site also includes a glossary of terms.
