Congratulations! Babylon Public Library: Ludlow's Peace-Lovin' Hippies

On Saturday August 14, teams from thirty-six Suffolk County Public Libraries competed in the fourteenth annual Battle of the Books. Javits Lecture Center, located on the campus of Stony Brook University was filled with costumed teens ready to share their knowledge of eight books. Later that evening Babylon Public Library won the championship! Congratulations to our finalists: The Smithtown Library-Commack/Kings Park, Hampton Bays Public Library, and Sachem Public Library. Thanks to all of the teens, coaches, parents, and library staff who worked so hard to make Battle of the Books a memorable event.

Supported in part by Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
