Meeting Rooms: There are several meeting rooms which are used by the public. The organization must apply at the reference desk for the necessary forms.
Library Book Collection: Significant additions have been made to the Library collection, especially in the area of legal, educational, and business reference sources. Multiple copies of all the titles on the Wyandanch High School required list have been acquired to assist students.
Computer Technology: Wyandanch Public Library has available for public use ten (10) stand alone Computers, with printers attached.The software loaded on these computers include Windows 95, Lotus 123 spreadsheet,Word perfect 6.1, Resume writer, Microsoft Publisher, Mavis Beacon learn typing program, and more. Our Computer Training Class, started in 1997, has been taken 200 residents, and we have a waiting list of over one hundred prospective students.
New Operation: Our Library computer terminals assist the patron when searching for book by Titles and Authors, also in the processing of their books.
Videos and Programs: The library has a steadily growing Video collection which is very popular with adults and children. Storytime, movies,craft programs and the Parent /Child Workshop are well attended throughout the year. Our annual holiday celebration at Christmas and Kwanzaa attract more and more people each year.
Literacy Volunteer Program: The Literacy Volunteer Program offer basic reading instructions on a one to one basic to adults. It is one of the most successful in Suffolk County. It has earned National Recognition for excellence. Need for Literacy service is so great that a waiting list for students is maintained constantly.
