New Digital Media
at Quogue Library
SuffolkWave Digital Media to Your Home
Computer from the Library Webpage
The
Quogue Library is pleased to announce a new service,
SuffolkWave, which cardholders
can use to download a variety of digital media to their home computers.
A cooperative project involving Suffolk County public libraries,
the Suffolk Cooperative Library System, and Overdrive Inc.,
SuffolkWave is accessed from here and
allows library patrons to download audio books, music, and video
to their home computers, which then may be transferred to many popular
portable devices. Patrons will need a valid library card, broadband access
to the Internet, and a home computer to access SuffolkWave materials.
A one-time free download of OverDrive Media Console is required to use
the downloaded files. This service is intended for home use and
is not available on library computers. Need more help?

Welcome to Your Library
Looking for a warm and inviting place to curl up with a good book or magazine?
The Quogue Library has a spacious yet cozy, area for reading and research,
along with expanded
shelf space. We have managed this growth without sacrificing our small-town
charm. The Library now possesses more resources for our
patrons, along with a vast array of events and services. Aided
by the financial assistance of generous residents and supporters
who funded the renovations, and maintained by a dedicated staff
who are mostly volunteers, the Quogue Library has become a source
of pride and a symbol of community spirit for the village.
One of the most noticeable features of the facility
is a roomy computer lab. The lab provides the community
with the convenience of direct Internet access and several other
online services. Residents who are not yet computer literate
will have the opportunity to learn computer skills in computer
classes which are offered.
The enlarged Art Gallery has a new exhibit by a
local artist each month.
Keep posted for
reception and exhibit announcements. Children will be treated
to a larger assortment of programs and events to assist them
in reaping the benefits of the library's learning environment.
Then again, people of all ages can enjoy the Quogue Library.
All in all, the residents of the Quogue area should hurry down
and be part of the community spirit that the library offers and
nurtures.
