Dear SuffolkWeb Dial-In User,

This email is to inform you that effective December 31, 2007 the Suffolk Cooperative Library System will be ending our SuffolkWeb dial-in Internet service.

This change means that effective January 1, 2008 you will no longer be able to access the Internet by dialing into the SuffolkWeb system. We will continue to maintain and fully support SuffolkWeb email accounts. This change will not affect your ability to access the Internet at your local public library.

SCLS began the SuffolkWeb dial-in Internet project in 1995. Since that time we have seen great change and growth of the Internet. During the last number of years with the dramatic increase in broadband Internet access and wireless Internet availability we have seen a significant decline in overall SuffolkWeb dial-in usage. It has also become more difficult and costly for us to maintain this aging technology.

We are alerting you of this decision now so that you will have ample time to transition to a new Internet Service Provider by December 31, 2007.
